Dispensary
Windrush Medical Practice is proud to have our own dispensing pharmacy within the Practice. You can find our dispensary on the first floor, opposite our reception in the waiting room.
This service is used by some of our patients who may live more than 1 mile away from their closest pharmacy. The dispensary team can also answer any queries you have regarding your medications.
Dispensary Opening Times
Dispensary
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 1pm and 2pm to 6:30pm.

Contacting the dispensary team
We do not take repeat prescription requests via telephone. This is because we may not correctly hear which medications you would like to request, which could put you at risk if the wrong medication is issued.

Eligibility to become a dispensing patient
You may be eligible to become a dispensing patient at the Windrush Medical Practice and be able to collect your prescriptions from our dispensary.
Our dispensary is able to dispense medications to patients who live in rural areas. The legislation allows for this service to be used by patients who live more than one mile away from their closest pharmacy. This is beneficial to our patients who live in rural areas, as they can avoid excessive travel to collect their prescriptions if they can collect their prescriptions soon after seeing their GP.
We are unfortunately limited to who we are able to dispense to from the Practice. To see if you are eligible, you may find your nearest pharmacy using the online NHS pharmacy locator. If you are more than one mile away from your nearest pharmacy, you may be eligible.
