Minor Illness Clinic
From Monday, March 23 the Trust will be operating a reduced service due to the redeployment of staff responding to increasing demands caused by the coronavirus outbreak.
Therefore the opening hours of Minor Injuries Units (MIUs) and First Aid Units (FAUs) are changing.
From today the Minor Injury Unit at Witney Community Hospital is operating reduced hours but remains open seven days a week, from 10.00 until 18:30.
Run by our specially trained Nurses, the Minor Illness clinic aims to provide rapid access for acute problems and to give the doctors more time to deal with more complex and ongoing problems. They will be able to assess, diagnose and treat most problems, provide prescriptions when required and have the back up of the Duty Doctor at all times. This clinic is not suitable for babies under the age of six months.
Some of the conditions most commonly seen in the Minor Illness Clinic include:
- Sore Throat
- Urinary Tract Infections
- Rashes and Common Skin Conditions
- Eye Symptoms
- Gastroenteritis - Diarrhoea and Vomiting
- Emergency Contraception
- Vaginal Discharge
