When are the clinics starting?
Our clinics are starting October 2022, Mondays/Thursdays and Saturdays.
What if patients are unable to attend the proposed vaccination dates?
If patients are not able to make any of our vaccination’s clinics, they can use the following link: Book or manage a coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination – NHS (www.nhs.uk) to book an alternative appointment at another site. However, we understand that the Kassam Stadium may stop vaccinating November/December this year. There may be other sites available locally (such as Kiddlington and Faringdon, but we cannot be certain how long these sites will be open for).
Who is eligible for these vaccinations and when will be invited to book an appointment?
You will receive either a phone call or a SMS text message to invite you to book your flu/covid vaccinations. We will be contacting eligible patients in the following order:

- Over 75s
- Over 70s
- At Risk

What Covid vaccine will I be having?

How do I book an appointment?
Please wait to receive a call or SMS text message, if you miss the phone call the admin team will attempt to contact you again so please refrain from calling the surgery to keep these lines free for urgent enquiries. You can also complete the following form with the appropriate times our Covid team can contact you to book the appointment. If you are trying to book via the SMS text message link and there are no slots, please keep trying, appointment slots will become available.
What if I am registered housebound and unable to attend the practice?
If you are registered housebound you will receive a home visit by a clinician from the Windrush Medical Practice, you will be contacted by our Covid admin team with a confirmed date.
I don’t know whether I am registered with you as housebound, how will I know if I get a visit?
Please complete the following form www.windrushmedicalpractice.co.uk/navigator/covidflu-vaccination-query and a member of our Covid Team will check as to whether you are eligible for a home visit.
Are there any contraindications to having the vaccine?
Do not attend if you have had Covid Illness in the 4 weeks prior. The Autumn Booster should be 3 months or more after your most recent Covid Vaccination.
What if I don’t want the covid and/or flu vaccination?
We are advising all patients eligible to book for both the flu and covid vaccination. If you want both vaccinations but separate appointments, we cannot guarantee there will be availability for 2 separate bookings. If you want to decline either vaccination, please decline using your SMS text link or confirm with our Covid admin team when they contact you to book your appointment and they will amend your medical records to confirm you have declined.
How will the clinics run?
You will be given an allocated appointment time, please attend as close to this appointment time as possible, once you arrive you will be greeted by a member of staff who will check as to whether you are having both covid and/or flu vaccinations, you will then be given a slip to hand to your vaccinator. You will be asked as to whether you have reviewed the consenting video and then signposted to the appropriate queue to receive your vaccination, (please note this is likely to reduce your queue waiting time if reviewed prior to your vaccination appointment) if you have not yet reviewed the consenting video you will be added to a queue to review the video before going into the appointment. We will be adding the consent video to this page shortly as well as sending it out via SMS text message.
I have a question after reviewing the video/I need to ask my GP a question about covid/flu vaccination. Please submit an enquiry online: COVID-19/Flu Vaccination Query. Please do not call the practice.
